En el principio,
en los albores de 1955,
el hombre no conocía las actuaciones de Rock and Roll
y demás chorradas.
El hombre blanco disponía de cancioncillas sensibleras.
El hombre negro disponía del blues.
Nadie sabía cómo debía proceder
pero Tchaikovsky trajo la nueva.
Dijo: Hágase el sonido.
Y el sonido se hizo.

Hágase el Rock.
Y acaeció
que el Rock and Roll se hubo engendrado
a lo largo de la tierra y que toda banda de Rock
provocaba una tormenta.
El guitarrista logró fama.
El empresario logró riqueza.
Y en cada bar se encontró una super estrella
con la tentación viviendo arriba.
Quince millones de dedos
aprendían a tocar.
Y podían escucharse los dedos contra las cuerdas
y así debían clamar:
Hágase la luz.
Sonido.
Batería.
Guitarra.
Hágase el Rock.
Una noche en un club llamado Chócala
tocó una banda a noventa y dos decibelios.
La música era buena y la música sonaba fuerte.
Y el cantante volviose y dijo a la multitud:

(Nota a la traducción): Durante la grabación del tema Bon Scott cometió un par de errores con la letra.
ResponderEliminarAdelantó el sonido a la luz pero lo he dejado tal cual para que no rechine al leer la traducción junto a la escucha de la canción.
Los cuarenta y dos decibelios de la banda en la toma original palidecían frente a los noventa y dos de siguientes interpretaciones: aquí sí que he cambiado la traducción (en ambos casos Bon Scott y posteriormente Brian Johnson corregirían los deslices).
'The seven year itch' es el título en inglés de la película de Billy Wilder con Marilyn Monroe aquí traducida 'La tentación vive arriba': no quedaba mal seguir la poco fiel traducción castellana del título en la referencia que hace la letra.
